Post-2016 Prouty Update! (7/12/16)
Despite the dreary weather the 2016 Prouty was a huge success! The Beam Team comprised of 58 members this year, both bikers and walkers. Our photos above and below capture perfectly that, although our skins were damp, our spirits were high! We are proud to announce that the Beam Team raised almost $21,000 and counting. Prouty donations to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center continue even after the event is over.
A HUGE thank you goes out to all who donated and all who participated, with a special shout out to Katy Haas who biked the Ultimate, 200 miles, and raised over $2,000. Overall this year’s 35th annual Prouty comprised of 4500 participants and raised over three million dollars for cancer research and supportive patient services. Amazing!
Join us next July for The 2017 Prouty…we count on being there…rain or shine!

What is The Prouty?
The first Prouty was held in 1982, when four nurses cycled 100 miles through the White Mountains of New Hampshire to honor the courage and strength of their patient, Audrey Prouty, in her nine-year fight against ovarian cancer. Every year since then, more and more people have gathered in Hanover to celebrate and to honor the courage of cancer patients and survivors, and to remember the loved ones who have passed. The event has grown considerably. Now participants of any age and physical ability can fundraise through walking, riding, rowing or golfing.
In 1982, the nurses raised $4,000. In 2015, the 34th Annual Prouty raised more than $3.3 Million for cancer research and patient services!
