The second collaboration between Bensonwood and MIT’s House_n resulted in Unity: A super-efficient, net-zero energy, LEED Platinum home. The prototype was built for the president of Unity College. We liked Unity enough to make several variations available. Like the original, Unity Homes can be net-zero, supports green roofs, photovoltaic, and solar hydronic systems. All are “super-insulated” with r-values exceeding R40 for the walls, R60 on the roof and R20 under the slab.
