Engineer

Position Summary

As an Engineer, you will be an integral part of the BWC project team. You will collaborate with other engineers, architects and designers, project managers, contractors, modelers, drafters, and builders within and outside the company to deliver complex and challenging projects. This role will provide you the opportunity to develop new skills and contribute to our dynamic team culture. You may also be able to help with a raising or two. Travel related to this full-time, non-exempt role will be less than 5%. This role will be based in our Walpole, NH office.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and design foundations, floor, wall & roof framing, and timber frame structures following construction and government codes and standards, using analysis software, excel spreadsheets, and 3d and 2d CAD drawing tools
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction and structural alternatives to timber framers, carpenters, architects, construction managers, and sales associates
• Assist project managers in shepherding projects through BWC’s internal process flow; guide external project teams in working with BWC’s product offerings and design-build process
• Operate within engineering team at direction of BWC’s lead engineer; guide junior engineers and other team members on specific projects

Preferred Qualifications

• B.S. in structural, mechanical, or civil engineering
• 4+ years construction industry experience, including engineering wood and/or timber structures
• Panelized construction experience preferred
• 3d Building Information Modeling experience
• P.E. licensure preferred
